1. Who we are
Atrip is operated by Simon David, trading as Studio David, based in Queensland, Australia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Atrip mobile app and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following information when you use Atrip:
- Account information — your email address, display name, and profile picture, when you create an account with Google, Apple, or an email address and password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, your display name and profile picture come directly from that provider — Atrip does not have its own photo upload, and has no plans to add one.
- Push notification token — if you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can send them to you. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
- Website contact form — if you use the contact form on this website, the name, email address, and message you submit are sent to our form provider, Formspark (see "Third-party services" below).
We don't currently collect analytics, usage tracking, or crash/device diagnostic data from the app.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account, and verify your identity when you sign in
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app
- Send you push notifications, if you've allowed them
- Respond to your support requests and contact form submissions
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-party services
Atrip relies on a small number of third-party services to function. Each processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting for your account
- Google Cloud (Cloud Run) — hosts our backend API
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — if you choose to sign in this way, they share your name, email, and profile picture with us
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to your device
- Formspark — processes submissions from this website's contact form
- Botpoison — invisible spam protection for this website's contact form; it does not collect personal information from visitors who aren't submitting the form
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from the app — see our data deletion page. Deletion is immediate: we don't queue or review requests, and there's nothing left behind afterwards.
6. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest by our hosting providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
7. Children's privacy
Atrip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected].
If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (providing your account and the app's features), and our legitimate interest in operating and keeping Atrip secure. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority at any time if you believe we've mishandled your personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
10. Contact
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, email us at [email protected].
